Hi! I’m Kristin Angona-Macwan, IHP2, MCBE, MS,
Are you struggling with a chronic illness or autoimmune disease? Health challenges may appear silent to others but can can impact every aspect of your life and leave you feeling unhappy, unfulfilled, unmotivated and often completely unable to live the life you desire. That’s what I’m here to help! I suffered with Ulcerative Colitis, Hashimotos, and PCOS, so I know first hand what it’s like to be chronically fatigued and completely miserable.
I reversed my chronic illnesses through utilizing functional lab testing to see what was causing my chronic illness in addition to making changes to my lifestyle, food, nervous system regulation, emotional & spiritual healing. I became determined for others to not have to suffer how I did and became a certified Integrative Health Practitioner in order to run the same lab tests I did and many more, helping others reverse their chronic illnesses as well!
When I began my healing journey I spent over $10,000 working with a functional medicine doctor and still had to do a ton of research on my own to fully understand what I needed. My mission is to bring the same information to you at a more affordable price and in a way that you can actually understand it and take action, as I really want everyone to be able to feel better and live a quality life.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me here at [email protected]
I wish more than anything that I had learned about preventative healthcare instead of reactive healthcare. You don’t need to wait until you are actually diagnosed with a disease to begin working with a practitioner that can help you prevent a chronic illness. Do any diseases run in your family? You aren’t doomed to getting that yourself if you are able to take preventative measures.
Preventative care can improve your current lifestyle and leave you with:
Gut health is the foundation to the rest of our health. According to Hippocrates, “All disease begins in the gut.” If you think about it, our gut is where we absorb our nutrients and water so if that is weakened, broken or damaged, how can we expect the rest of our systems to work properly?
There are many things in our environment that contribute towards a “leaky” (broken) gut. Often these are out of our control but many include over usage of antibiotics, birth control, pesticides on our food, and constant stress.
It is important to uncover the root cause of the “flood” in your gut. If you keep removing the water but don’t know how to turn off the faucet will you ever really fix the problem? This is why I do a thorough evaluation using functional lab testing to see exactly what is going on in your gut. Everyone’s gut is unique and like a garden, we are ok with the flowers but if there are too many weeds or even too many flowers things get out of balance. Throwing random probiotics at the issue can make things worse and cause some of your flowers or weeds to overgrow even with the best of intentions!
Some of the most common gut issues I specialize in are:
Your body doesn’t start attacking itself for no reason, there is always a cause! If you keep removing the water but don’t know how to turn off the faucet will you ever really fix the problem? It is important to find what is causing the faucet to stay on causing your autoimmune disease. Once we determine the cause you are able to remove the factor that is causing your immune system to be in overdrive. It is also very common for autoimmune diseases to appear after a traumatic event such as a death in the family or a car accident. Typically there are multiple reasons for this, which is why I like to take a multi-faceted approach diving into all aspects of your life, physically and emotionally. Some of the most common autoimmune diseases I see are:
